With a solid practical background in business, from successful start up through trade sale. With a robust and extensive knowledge of the outdoors, both as a practitioner and a senior manager, Ashley has a wide set of skills.
Through Mentrau Bach, Since 2015 Ashley is an associate consultant to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) focussing on drowning prevention and public risks outdoors. On a part time basis Ashley is the Head of Health & Safety for UK Athletics.
In diverse settings such as Ministerial Advisory groups, statutory committees, as a Member of Dwr Cymru Welsh Water, as a Senior Manager within a sports governing body or within event management Ashley brings a breadth of experience. As well as having run his own business within the IT continuity sector and having worked in activity tourism in New Zealand, Austria and North Wales, Ashley has a broad network available to him.
When not working Ashley enjoys running slowly, a very long way, has contributed to guidebooks for Mountain BIking, Canoeing and Wild Swimming. He is a fully qualified professional Yachtmaster, Mountain Leader, Mountain Bike Instructor, UKA run leader and holds membership as TechIOSH and is an Associate Fellow of the Royal Institute of Navigation. Ashley is also ‘Advanced Provider’ member of the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Ashley believes strongly in the value of volunteering. He was a founding Event Director for Dolgellau parkrun, and looks after the Keep Wales Tidy litter picking hub in Dolgellau.
